Database Engineer
General Description:
Position will design, develop, build, deploy and maintain database management systems (DBMS). Database engineers will analyze database
architectures, and configure DBMS products to match user requirements to system capabilities. Position requires experience with complex databases (i.e.: Oracle,
SYBASE, MYSQL, etc.), which can operate in large distributed systems. Database Engineers will develop code and database schemas using procedural languages
(i.e.: PL/SQL, SQL, etc.) in Windows, UNIX and Linux environments.
Position may require determining file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures;
producing database designs and documentation to include data models and data flow diagrams;
and evaluating system capacity and performance. Position may involve troubleshooting and
resolving database problems and issues, and/or recommending new systems, features and/or functionality.
Candidates should have experience using clusters and replication/streaming technologies and ensuring
data integrity. Position may be responsible for data warehousing and data mining. Position should be familiar
with object oriented programming methods.
An A.A. or B.A./B.S. is preferred.
